A Core Value, a Moral Obligation
Safety Excellence is achieved by Management Commitment, Employee Involvement, Worksite Analysis, Hazard Control, and Training.
LF Driscoll is dedicated to the pursuit of safety excellence through a continuously improving Safety Program, the enforcement of safety compliance, and the elimination or minimization of exposure to hazards on the jobsite.
LFD sets high standards for ourselves and our subcontractors through our partnership with the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council. We recognize that safety training is the foundation of safety excellence, and our firm is committed to continuing 30-Hour and 10-Hour OSHA training for all our staff, and by requiring Subcontractor Foremen to complete OSHA 30 Hour training as well. Subcontractors are required to recognize and abate unsafe jobsite conditions and behaviors at all times. LFD monitors and evaluates subcontractor safety compliance, and works aggressively to improve safety at all levels.
Our level of commitment is demonstrated by our performance, and our record speaks for itself.
We strengthen our commitment to safety through our participation in the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and OSHA Partnership Programs. The focus and dedication required to maintain the standard of safety demanded by these Safety Excellence Programs continues to raise the level of safety practiced by the entire company. We currently have multiple VPP Star Construction sites and have engaged in several successful OSHA Partnerships.
Our primary motivation for safety continues to be a moral one: that each worker go home at the end of the day in the same or better condition than he or she arrived at work. Substantiating our moral concern through a continuously improving safety program, our goal is Zero Accidents. We have adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy towards compliance with fall protection, electrical safety, harassment, violence and no smoking outside of designated areas.
