Early Years
L.F. Driscoll's commitment to excellence began when founded by Leon F. Driscoll in 1929. He began his company under the cloud of the Great Depression, a time when reputation was paramount and perseverance was the only lasting measurement of success. The young L.F. Driscoll Co. built this reputation through old-fashioned hard work and dedication that remains at the core of the company today.

Better times came to Philadelphia in the 1940s and 1950s. L.F. Driscoll prospered during the long awaited economic expansion and was recognized as a respected and capable general contractor. At this time, Edward Driscoll, Leon Driscoll's son, returned from his service in the U.S. Navy and joined the firm, bringing his own optimistic vision for the company's future.

Construction Management
That future was bright. Ed Driscoll was aware of new trends sweeping the nation and prepared the company for what lay ahead. He predicted that construction management would emerge as the favored delivery system for large-scale projects, a vision that was realized in the 1960s and 1970s. L.F. Driscoll became a forerunner in this new approach and soon launched its reputation into the top tier of construction management firms in the Philadelphia area.

Recent Growth
By the 1990s, L.F. Driscoll was winning annual recognition by Engineering-News Record magazine as one of the "Nation's Top 100 Construction Managers At-Risk." The company's success has shown in the additions it has made to the city of Philadelphia and beyond. Some of these notable projects include One Liberty Place, the city's premiere and most distinctive high rise; the high tech pharmaceutical research campus for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company; cutting edge facilities for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; luxury hotel projects such as the Ritz-Carlton and Loews Philadelphia Hotel; world class sports arenas such as the Wachovia Center and the Temple University Liacouras Center; and Philadelphia's latest landmark, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Today's Success
L.F. Driscoll's current endeavors continue to show the excellence and prominence of the company in the Philadelphia area. Current projects include Comcast Center, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Crescent One at the Navy Yard, Abington Memorial Hospital, Academy of Music, Albert Einstein Medical Center, Homewood Suites, The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, The Lancaster General Hospital, Marriott's Fairway Villas at Seaview, One Crescent Drive at the Navy Yard, Princeton Corporate Campus, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and The Philadelphia Museum of Art.

With an eye on the future and a passion for its heritage of excellence, L.F Driscoll Co. is prepared to meet the demands of the new century.
